Mirabilia 'English Roses'

Most of my stitching time this week has been devoted to Mirabilia 'English Roses'. I bought this for my mam several years ago but she never got round to finishing it, so last week when I was visiting 'them folk up north' she handed it over to me. I can't say that it's an enjoyable stitch...it calls for Kreinik metallic threads which I really hate stitching with - does anybody else feel this way? It also has lots of beading to do, which I don't mind, but I'm wondering how I'll feel after stitching hundreds and hundreds! I've never tackled ribbon work before but I'm quite looking forward to that.




I am taking part in a private Shepherd's Bush/Prairie Schooler exchange with April. I've stitched the Shepherds Bush exchange piece already! It's one I've wanted to do for a long time so I just got on and did it - It made a welcome change from 'English Roses'. I've ordered a new Prairie Schooler leaflet so fingers crossed that should arrive soon.

The weather has been beautiful here all week but has taken a turn for the worse today. Probably a good thing for the brave runners doing the London Marathon.

Anyway, here's a photo of my daughter before it got all overcast and drizzly!
